
Chair - Nasreen Sevany
Nasreen Sevany is a secondary Math and Economics teacher. She has had over 20 years of experience in the public and private boards as well as an international teaching stint in Portugal.
These include teaching and leadership positions. She also taught the AP and IB Senior Years Programme in her various positions. In addition to this, Nasreen had the opportunity to teach pre and post-service Education courses at OISE and within the York Region Board of Education.
Currently, Nasreen has her own business of afterschool Math programs in the GTA.
Nasreen attended the University of Waterloo and York University where she completed an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and Economics as well as her Bachelors and Masters in Education.

Mentor/Mentee Program– Khadijah Rhemtulla
Khadijah Rhemtulla is a Professional Teacher within the Toronto District School Board, currently teaching grade 4 at an International Baccalaureate School. She’s been involved in the Primary Years Program for the past 8 years continuing to explore and engage the inquiry based IB curriculum with her students as well as other educators. She has a B. Ed. from York University with training in the Math, Science and Technology program for teachers. Prior to, she received an Honours B.Sc. in Biology from the joint Science and Business program at the University of Waterloo.
Nishma Bhaloo is a sessional professor at Centennial College at both the Progress and Morningside Campus where she teaches Psychology to a diverse student body. Prior to, she taught English to primary/junior students at the Toronto French School (IB).
Nishma also has 3 years of international teaching experience teaching in Abu Dhabi (U.A.E.) where she taught an energetic bundle of primary students. She recently completed her Masters of Education specializing in Leadership from the University of Calgary.
Social Media – Alisha Murji
Alisha Murji is an elementary teacher with the
Toronto District School Board. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology, her Bachelor of Education at Queens University, and obtained her Masters of Education at OISE.
Alisha is both passionate and dedicated to the teaching profession, and been with the Toronto District School Board for 5 years.
Event Planning – Aliya Nathoo
Aliya Nathoo-Daya is an Elementary and Montessori qualified teacher. Aliya attended Wilfrid Laurier University and Medialle College, completing an Honours Bachelors in Religion and Culture, Geography as well as a Masters of Science in Education.
She is responsible for maintaining the Governance Document for the Alliance. This includes organizing and revising a Terms of Reference that would guide board members/general members of the Alliance with a clear sense of objectives, membership qualifiers and the board election process to be followed.

Marketing – Aleem visram
Aleem is a top rated Part-Time Marketing Professor in the BBA, MBA and Executive Education Programs at the Schulich School of Business at York University. Aleem was the youngest and first Professor to win the prestigious Schulich Teaching Excellence Award from over 200 faculty in his first year of teaching. He was appointed as the Associate Director of the Schulich Centre for Teaching Excellence to train new faculty on participatory learning approaches and using social media in the classroom. Prior to teaching, Aleem spent over a decade in Management at several global Fortune 100 companies, including Pfizer, American Express, Kraft, Novartis and Tata. Aleem graduated on the Dean’s List from the Honors Business Administration (HBA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business. In his spare time, Aleem volunteered as the National Media Director for the World Partnership Walk.
